The Saint Andrews Nuisance Deer Management Assistance Program is now open for registration of landowners and hunters for the urban limits of Saint Andrews (for properties located within the geographical range of Clarke Road to Indian Point Park). The Program:
For a limited time, the Town is offering a maximum of one (1) rebate for the owner of a residence who installs a security camera(s) on the exterior of their property. The rebate amount is for a maximum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) and is subject to the conditions outlined below. The rebate program will run from August 12, 2024 – October 31, 2024, depending on available funds. Council will re-evaluate the program yearly based on budget discussions and uptake from the public.
Public Safety is a priority for the Council, and it is believed the addition of security cameras through the Town of Saint Andrews will support law enforcement, deter criminal activity, and contribute to the overall safety and security in the community.
Who is Eligible for the Program?
This offer is for residents within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Saint Andrews. Security camera systems must be installed on the exterior of a residential building. Rebates will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis, accepting only valid applications. Security cameras purchased on or after August 12, 2024, to October 31, 2024, will be accepted, until funding is exhausted.
To Receive the Rebate:

•Security cameras must be installed on the exterior of a residential building.
•Owners must provide photographic evidence of camera(s) installed along with receipts of cameras purchased.
•Residents must be willing to provide security camera footage to the Town of Saint Andrews and the RCMP to help with investigations into crime occurring in the community to be eligible for the rebate.
•Security camera(s) must meet the technical specifications provided.
•Rebates will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis accepting only valid applications.

What do I need to Apply?
1.Complete the application form provided and submit it to the Town of Saint Andrews.

2.Proof of installation of security cameras:

a.Receipt dated on or after August 12, 2024, to October 31, 2024.

b.Photograph of camera installed in place or installer receipt.

3. We recommend making a copy of your completed application form and receipts for your own records as all information submitted will not be returned.

   Security Camera Technical Specifications
   To help with identification of individuals, security cameras should have the following technical specifications:

• Camera resolution 3 megapixels or better.
• Screen resolution of 2048 x 1536.
• Video Quality – High.
• Frames per second – 15
• Storage Requirements – 64 GB storage capacity or higher. SD cards can be purchased and installed for higher storage rates.
  Security Camera Systems Must:
• Meet these minimum technical and video quality specifications.
• Ideally retain video footage for at least forty-eight (48) hours.
• Be installed on the exterior of a building.
• Be designed for the outdoors and waterproof/weatherproof as opposed to modifying a camera designed for indoor use.
  Applicants are responsible for keeping their camera system functional. A dysfunctional camera or nonfunctional camera system does not benefit the community and cannot contribute to improving public safety. A broken or dysfunctional camera may constitute a compliance issue. It is encouraged that such issues are addressed as soon as possible.
