Charlotte County Archives is looking for an Archives Manager for a full-time, six-month employment contract with the possibility of renewal, pending funding. The job will begin as soon as the hiring process is complete, ideally by April 25, 2019.
Under the general direction of the Board of Directors, the Archives Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Charlotte County Archives office, staff, and volunteers; for ensuring adherence to the collections policies developed by the Board; and for the successful leadership and management of the Archives, according to the strategic direction set by the Board.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in history, library science, or a related field, or have extensive experience in archival or historic record-keeping and research. An interest in history or genealogy, a passion for detail, and a desire to serve the public are also highly recommended.
