This is a seasonal position (May through October) for an individual who is a team player, has the ability to follow instruction, work independently and be comfortable doing manual labour, as well as operating a ride-on lawn mower, grass trimmer and chainsaw.

Qualifications:

Completion of high school
Candidate must be in good health as some duties are of a strenuous nature
Valid New Brunswick Class V driver’s license.

Blockhouse -Tourist Guide Competition #2019-12

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Wearing the assigned uniform including closed toed footwear.
Attending and participating in staff training.
Acting in a professional manner at all times.
Promoting safe work practices by example.
Not using personal technology during working hours.
Notifying the VIC Supervisor of any emergencies occurring on the site in a timely manner.
Submitting bi-weekly time sheets to the VIC supervisor.
Being punctual and on time for scheduled shifts.
Being honest and cooperative with co-workers thus contributing to a team spirit in the work place.
 TERMS and CONDITIONS:         

Rate of pay is set at $______ per hour.
Vacation pay (4% of pay) will be included in pay cheque.
Pay day is bi-weekly and by automatic deposit.
40 hours per week.
Some holiday and weekend shifts.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Working as a front-line ambassador for the Town of Saint Andrews.
  • Greeting visitors and offering assistance as required.
  • Distribution and dissemination of information and literature.
  • Promotion of the Town, County, Province and Atlantic Canada.
  • Knowledgeable and informed regarding attractions and events within the Town.
  • Knowledge of the Town’s history, heritage and cultural background.
  • Assisting visitor with itinerary planning.
  • Janitorial duties including cleaning public washrooms.
  • Attending to tasks as assigned by the VIC Supervisor.

Senior Interpretive Guide- Sheriff Andrews House

Under the direction of the Museum Supervisor, this position is responsible for assisting and supporting the activities of the summer operations on a provincial historic site.

The ideal candidate will be responsible to greet visitors and provide them information regarding the facility, museum displays, and youth programming.

This is a minimum 18-week position starting in late May.

The ideal candidate will;

  • Have successfully completed high school education.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and oral communication skills
  • Ability to do oral presentations to the general public
  • Ability to lift, move and carry up to 20 kg
  • Fluency in both official languages would be considered an asset.

TOUR GUIDE – ROSS MEMORIAL MUSEUM -Competition #2019-14

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Working as a front line ambassador for the Town of Saint Andrews.
  • Greeting the public and offering an interpretive tour of the facility.
  • Promoting other historical sites in the Town.
  • Planning, preparing and delivering special events for Canada Day, New Brunswick Day and any exhibit openings.
  • Working on projects requiring initiative, research and planning.
  • Assist in other areas of the Museum’s operation such as data collection, light janitorial, and gardening.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wearing the assigned uniform including closed-toed footwear.
  • Attending and participating in staff training.
  • Acting in a professional manner at all times.
  • Promoting safe work practices by example.
  • Not using personal electronic technology during working hours.
  • Notifying the Supervisor of any emergencies occurring on the premises of the Museum in a timely manner.

Duties include providing public tours, addressing inquiries and light maintenance around the facility.  The successful candidate will have an interest in historic artifacts, places and events, enjoys working with the public, is well groomed and has a positive attitude.  Bilingualism is required.  This is a full time position starting May 30/19 and finishing August 31/19 at 40 hours per week.

The successful candidate has an interest in historic artifacts, is well groomed, has a positive attitude and possesses excellent communication skills.  Bilingualism considered an asset. This is a full-time position starting May 29/19 and the finishing August 31/19 at 40 hours per week.

Tourism Guides – Visitor Information Centre Competition #2019-15

Duties include assisting visitors with information about the Town, surrounding areas and the province. Light maintenance in the facility is required.  The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of Saint Andrews, enjoys working with the public, is well groomed, have a positive attitude. Bilingualism is considered an asset. This is a full-time position starting May 8/19 and finishing August 31/19 at 40 hours per week.

PUBLIC NOTICE – WELLNESS CENTER MEETING POSTPONED

“At the February 4, 2019 Council Meeting, it was stated that Council hoped to have a meeting on February 23, 2019 to discuss the Wellness Centre. However, in order to provide the best information on the various options, the meeting has been postponed to a later date.

Mayor and Council will provide an update as soon as all information has been gathered.”

Updates will be provided through the Town’s website, Facebook, Info Board (Front of Town Hall) and CHCO-TV.
