Town of Saint Andrews Seeks Water & Sewer Operator


Perform meter reading activities, including reading residential, commercial meters; perform special readings and re-reads.
Clean and maintain lift stations and pumps.
Perform cleaning and routine inspection and preventative maintenance of equipment and tools. Refer defects to supervisor.
Assist public works crew with water main and lateral breaks.
Receive, respond, investigate and resolve complaints regarding water leaks, pressure loss or no water; evaluate situation, report findings to supervisor.
Notify residents and business owners in the areas where services will be disconnected or affected and provide anticipated time to expect services to be turned off and restored.
Cut, fit, lay repairs, tap, clean and flush water mains, pipes, gate valves and fittings for repair of mains, services and installation of services.
Maintain, repair and record maintenance of fire hydrants.
Ensures all work performed in compliance with relevant standards, legislation and regulations.
Daily testing and operation of the water and wastewater facilities in accordance with the New Brunswick Environment guidelines and operating permits.
Provide information to customers related to utility operations in a professional manner.
Assists plumbing contractor with winterization of Town owned seasonal buildings and wharf.
Performs daily water quality and system tests.
Inspect and clean water reservoirs.
Maintain and test water and wastewater facility generators.
Perform needed maintenance at Sewage Lift Stations, Wastewater Treatment Facility, Water Treatment Facility, and Water Storage Reservoir inspection check list forms.

St. Andrews Market Wharf Opens for the Season!

A note to let the Public know that the floating docks surrounding the main wharf pier head are now re-opened the Public. The docks have been on restricted access/off limits to the Public for the winter season.

The Wharfinger thanks the Town’s Water Department and Public Works Department for their assistance in repairs from winter storm damage and getting the Wharf open in time for last Tuesday’s visiting cruise ship the “Pearl Mist” and this week’s Paddlefest Event.

Building By-law 19-03 Registered and Enacted

At the April 1st, 2019 Regular Council Meeting, By-law 19-03 Being the Building by-law was introduced for First reading.  A Hearing of Objections  was held by Council on Monday, April 29th, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the W. C. O’Neill Arena Complex with no objections by letter or people present. Second Reading took place on Monday April 29, at 7PM and Council proceeded with the Third and final Reading at the Regular May meeting of Council on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 7PM at the W.C. O’Neill Arena Complex Ballroom.   Registration of the By-law took place in the County Registry Office on May 17, 2019.

It was moved by Councillor Bishop, seconded by Councillor Groulx that Zoning By-Law Z18-04, Being a By-Law to repeal and replace Zoning By-Law 10-04, A By-Law of the Town of Saint Andrews Respecting Zoning, and all amendments thereto, including By-Law 13-01, saving and excepting By-Law 15-02, By-Law  Z17-01, By-Law Z17-02, and By-Law Z17-03, be read for a third time and final time.                                                                                 Carried
