Evacuation of Bocabec and W.C. O’Neill Arena Emergency Station

Residents of Saint Andrews (Especially Chamcook, Bayside area and Bocabec): Please be advised that there is a significant forest fire in Chamcook. Several fire departments have been deployed in addition to air support.

Along with our CAO Chris Spear, I am on standby incase any emergency orders need to issued. In addition to our alert system, I will also post here.

Thoughts are with surrounding residents and our first responders.

Although it’s natural to want to drive by, please refrain from travel along Chamcook Highway 127 to avoid congestion for our fire responders.

If anyone feels the need to evacuate, the WC O’Neill Arena is being opened as a centre.

Note that Highway 127 in Bocabec has been closed.
