SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT 2019

The Town of Saint Andrews is accepting applications for the following 2019 seasonal positions:

Public Works Labourer Competition #2019-10

Duties may include various tasks around the Town such as lawn mowing, litter pick up, painting and other tasks as assigned by the Public Works supervisor.

Junior Wharfinger Competition #2019-11

Duties include assisting the wharf staff with incoming boats, assisting tourists and boaters, and light maintenance on the wharf.  Experience with boating is considered an asset.

Tour Guides – St. Andrews Blockhouse  Competition #2019-12

Duties include providing public tours, addressing inquiries and light maintenance around the facility.  The successful candidate will have an interest in historic artifacts, places and events, enjoys working with the public, is well groomed and has a positive attitude.  Bilingualism is required.  This is a full time position starting May 30/19 and finishing August 31/19 at 40 hours per week.

Tour Guide – Sheriff Andrews House Competition #2019-13

Duties include wearing a period costume while providing interpretive tours of the museum and and carrying out light maintenance in the facility.  The successful candidate will have a passion for history, be well groomed, have a positive attitude, and possess excellent communication skills.  Bilingualism is considered an asset This is a full-time position starting May 29/19 and finishing August 31/19 at 40 hours per week.

Tour Guides – Ross Memorial Museum Competition #2019-14

Duties include conducting tours of the museum, light maintenance and gardening. The successful candidate has an interest in historic artifacts, is well groomed, has a positive attitude and possesses excellent communication skills.  Bilingualism considered an asset. This is a full-time position starting May 29/19 and the finishing August 31/19 at 40 hours per week.

Tourism Guides – Visitor Information Centre Competition #2019-15

Duties include assisting visitors with information about the Town, surrounding areas and the province. Light maintenance in the facility is required.  The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of Saint Andrews, enjoys working with the public, is well groomed, have a positive attitude. Bilingualism is considered an asset. This is a full-time position starting May 8/19 and finishing August 31/19 at 40 hours per week.

Junior Librarian Competition #2019-16

Duties include assisting the Manager with tasks related to the operations of a fully functioning library including the planning and delivery of a children’s summer program.  The successful candidate will enjoy working with the public, have an interest in literature, be well groomed and have a positive attitude.  Being enrolled in a Library Science Program is considered an asset.
