Welcome to the Town of Saint Andrews and thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about our wonderful community. We acknowledge that the lands in which we live, work, and play are on the unceded traditional territory of the Peskotomuhkati People. We are nestled on the southern tip of a peninsula extending into Passamaquoddy Bay and along the St. Croix River, including the communities of Bayside and Chamcook, in Charlotte County, New Brunswick.
Saint Andrews is known as “Canada’s Premier Seaside Resort Destination” which offers a dynamic community for residents and visitors of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. We are proud to be a centre of education and marine science research, a leading year-round tourism destination, and a vibrant and rich home for arts, culture, and history. We take pride in protecting and promoting our natural environments, our architectural heritage, and our recreational, cultural, and economic assets.
Many of our residents originally visited as tourists, fell in love with the splendor, atmosphere, and beauty of our natural environments, and have now made Saint Andrews their forever home. Founded by United Empire British Loyalists, many of the Town’s buildings and structures still reflect that history as you will see during a casual stroll along Water Street. We are a designated National Historic District that predates most Canadian communities. We are home to world-class attractions, a championship golf course, some of the province’s top restaurants, hotels, shops, and exciting festivals.
Along with the Council of the Town of Saint Andrews, I am pleased to be serving our community. We must respect and protect the characteristics of the look and feel of our Town while embracing and encouraging change for long-term viability. We must continue to capitalize on our infrastructure and assets that make Saint Andrews an excellent place to live and visit. With increasing costs around the world, it is imperative to strike a balance between investment in our community and affordability for our residents.
I encourage you to discover why Saint Andrews is New Brunswick’s fastest-growing community and why USA Today named it the “Best Destination in Canada”. Our residents are among the most welcoming in the world, and I encourage you to find out why.
We look forward to sharing all our community has to offer you.
Sincerely,
Brad Henderson, Mayor
